Social Committee

Parish Council Social

Kathleen Kelley Belluscis

The purpose of the Social Committee is to bring people together as a community at social events. It allows all of us to enjoy the spirit and joy of being together. It also brings goodwill to all and gives everyone a chance to know one another. Through these Church social activities, we become more aware of our surroundings and make hospitality a way of life at our parish.

The Social Committee’s responsibility is to plan or oversee the following parish social events:

March - St. Patrick’s Day Party held in the parish center. Traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner, Beer & Wine, dessert. Band and Raffles. Sell Tickets/ reservations in advance.

September- Parish Picnic/BBQ- (beach mass) held the 2nd weekend after Labor Day at the MB Bathing Pavilion.

Church picnic has been a separate event held behind the parish Center.

October- Italian/Pasta Night Dinner held in the parish center. Pasta, Meatballs, Salad, Bread & Dessert. Wine Beer. Tickets/ reservations made in advance.

December- Celtic Christmas. Sean Hennessey and his band perform traditional Irish holiday music. Parish Center is set up like a bistro lounge. Round tables- dim lighting as stage has Christmas trees with lights. Wine, Beer, Light appetizers and dessert & coffee are served.

-Welcoming Parties are held quarterly for New Parishioners – meet and greet- light refreshments. Hand out Welcome packet if they have not already received it.

-Developing other parish social events, i.e. bus trips, theater trips, sports outings, etc.

Had a road rally- great success- family fun!

Cooks were Enricho Lubrano, Bill Meyer and Rich Stelfox. I believe they are still here.
